OUT OF HER DEPTH



I have often wondered whether there isn't something slightly racist these days in using only Caucasian models. The problem is that, for some strange reason, when it comes to good quality free stock of the sort I need, that seems generally all that is available. Then I found this beautiful example. She had just the sort of face and pose I was looking for.

This model was so beautiful I hesitated before mutilating her...in this case, with the Liquify filter, which I rarely use. My usual method is to use smart objects and masks, but those sweet eyes were crying out to be “liquified”, and the mouth was subjected to the same treatment. Now she is beautiful no longer, not even in defeat...


Explanation


The model represents False Philosophy: those irrational arguments that society is plagued with today. Included would be “liberal” views about crime and punishment, sexist rape laws, phoney feminism, and of course shameless pro-abortion propaganda. Her eyes are swollen with tears of frustration. In the downturn of her mouth can be seen only defeat. She drowns in her own ignorance, holding a cloth up against her intellectual nakedness.

The book, an age-old symbol of learning, represents the need for clear and logical thinking to replace the woolly-mindedness that has become so common amongst those who are responsible for, or have a major influence on, society's laws; and, of course, amongst the barely educated “hangers-on” who grow fat on the profits.

The well-stocked bookshelves emphasize the deprivation of real learning in the life of the shallow thinker, and the importance of such for reaching sane conclusions.

The title “Out of her Depth” refers to my opinion that the views referred to are partly the result of the abandonment of any serious attempt to teach traditional logic (represented by the names of Aquinas and Plato) . People without this basic “common sense” grounding are almost bound to fall prey to irrational propaganda. On the other hand, it is heart-warming to see so many “guys in the street” who have, in my opinion, a firmer grasp of the principles...and far more common sense...than those who sit in Number 10 Downing Street, or on Capitol Hill.
